Hot Hair Updos for Fall 2010 Reflections of You Fairfax salon and spa

Done are the days of tight chignons and french twists. This Fall's runway trends are a soft and romantic take on the grunge trends of the 90's. Next season's styling will be greatly influenced by the designers of Fall Fashion week. Upstyles this fall are undone and slightly messy with a lived in-slept on look. The noncalant effortless styles of this season are always chic and are very hot for your formal events this fall and winter.
Variations of the low Chignons were featured by several designers on the runway: Statement making severe side parts paired with an undone and off center loose bun go easily from day to night. Try pulling some strands out of your chignon for an unpolished look. The pieces can be stick straight for a more graphic look or waved for something more romantic. A great variation of this look can be achieved with an undone french twist slightly messy and teased gently through the crown. Hair is twisted and then pulled apart leaving some hair up and some hair down and loosely waved. Define the texture with a styling paste like Surface Crave who's matte finish compliments the look of the season.
Bouffants and messy pompadour poofs are paired with smooth off centered french twists. The looks are structured but still soft. They are achieved through teasing combined with the power of styling powders like Surface Push for a slightly bed-heady feel that seems more modern than retro.
Finally for the hair down girls, messy matte waves are your new best friend. They are similar to the beach waves of summer but with a slept in feel. Its fancier than bedhead, not to mention sexier. Replace your curling iron this season for the waves of a smoothing iron. The secret again is lots of hair powder to give you that really matte texture and still control humidity.
Don't forget to finish all your Fall looks with Surface Theory Finishing spray. It's natural frizz fighting flexible hold will help to keep you looking great all night.

Go Green for Surface

Cosmoprof 2010

Check out Surface as featured in Launchpad Magazine! Executive Editor, Amy Dodds, interviewed hair guru, Wayne Grund during Cosmoprof and discussed his commitment to beauty, health, and the Earth.

>From a salon perspective, why Surface?

It is the right product, at the right time, with the right education and support available. Today's consumer is very savvy and respects personal health. We not only ensure that we
educate the salons on the uses of Surface; we educate stylists with the information that consumers are looking for in regards to the natural origins of our ingredients. Surface also helps the salons re-brand themselves for a healthier world.

How is Surface creating a better Earth?
Besides our respect for personal health, we use all eco-friendly formulas and packaging. We understand that we are responsible for the children of the Earth. Surface donates 10% of net profits to World Vision. We help salons get involved in their community and give guidance to leave the Earth a better place. Surface has adopted 25 World Vision children in the past year, and we have helped with food, school books, clothing, electricity, and antibiotics. Surface wants to make sure that we have done what we can to leave the Earth a better place.

Your haircut and the big bang theory. Reflections of You Fairfax Va.

Reflections of You Salon and Spa Fairfax Va. Roysalon.com
Just as clients do, bangs come in all shapes and sizes. Blunt wide-set bangs work best for slender and long face shapes, because they add width across the forehead to create balance. A soft, side-swept bang is flattering on a shorter facial frame. This helps to enhance the proportion of the look by opening up the face at an angle. It is extremely important to determine the clients ridge-point when making decisions about adding bangs to their style. The ridge-point is the exact position on the top of the head that starts to curve downward. All that goes beyond that spot is hair that naturally falls forward, and should be included as bangs. If you are interested in revamping your current hairstyle, be sure to ask what style bangs work best for your face shape!

Fun, Flirty and Foiled! Hair color and highlights Reflections of You Fairfax

Reflections of You Fairfax Your hair color Experts!
Does your hair color seem lifeless and dull? Are you hoping to rejuvenate your current look? As a hair color specialist, I want to spread the word about creative foiling techniques, provide various ways to liven up your hair! The opportunities are countless when it comes to foiling. Clients can seek a simple, yet sophisticated highlight service or they may be interested in something with more contrast and edge, such as a back-to-back lowlights and highlights. Colorists have been using foils for many years, but as styles go through trends the techniques for foil application and patterns that are being taught in advanced color courses are keeping hair experts up-to-date! Foiling can easily transition you from season-to-season, rather than compromising the integrity of your hair by bleaching it out in the summer, and coloring it with ammonia formulated dyes in the winter. Having your hair foiled can add dimension and depth to your color which helps to create a fuller look. It can also assist in the camouflaging of gray or white regrowth. The world of coloring with foil applications opens numerous possibilities for you and your hair! Be sure to set up a consultation with me at Reflections of You Fairfax to discuss your hair which techniques are best suited for your desired look!

Thin or short hair? Do you want longer fuller hair? Hair extensions Fairfax Va.

Do you have thin, short hair, but would like fuller, longer hair? Then SoCap USA Extensions are the solution to get the look you desire. There are many options with SoCap extensions. You can add length, fullness, or add funky colors to your hair for fashion fun!!!

What are SoCap Extensions?
SoCap Extensions are made in Italy with one hundred percent real European hair. At the top of the extension there is a pre-bonded keratin protein tip. You can choose from over eighty one different hair extension colors in three different textures and four different lengths. The colors range from honey blonde to neon green!

How are the extensions put in the hair?
The hair is sectioned into neat rows. Then a micro section is taken and put into a mini shield, that way your scalp and other hair are protected and are out of the way of the bonding process. A heat tool is used to soften the pre-bonded keratin protein tip. The softened protein tip is then placed on top of your natural hair. The heat tool is pressed on top of the protein tip and under your natural hair to form a bond.

How long will the extensions last?
They will last 3 to 6 months with the proper recommended home care, products, and tools.

Will the extensions look like my hair?
Yes. The extensions are one hundred percent natural hair and are bonded to the hair in really small sections, that way they are nearly invisible to the eye. During your consultation, your stylist will match up your natural texture, natural color, or desired hair color to the extensions to get the natural or fun look that you desire.

Can I wash and style my hair after the extensions are put in?
Absolutely!! Your stylist will recommend the proper extension shampoo and conditioner for you to take home. Normal salon shampoos have too much oil in them, which can ruin the bond. You will also need to use a special extension brush in your hair, because regular brushes can catch on the bond and pull the extension out. You can use all your normal hot styling tools in your hair, as long as you keep the heat source away from the keratin bonds. Too much heat on a bond can cause the bond to soften and slide off.

Adult and teen spa Acne Treatment Options Reflections of You Fairfax Va.

Are you looking for clearer healthy skin?

The spa may be your answer. It’s a myth that spa’s are for people with clear beautiful skin we manage and treat many skin conditions at Reflections of You Fairfax roysalon.com

Procedural treatments are therapies performed by a esthetician or dermatoligist. They are used in the treatment of mild to severe acne, depending on the treatment. Procedural therapies are meant to be supportive and used in conjunction with topical and/or systemic treatments.

Extractions - Often performed by estheticians during a facial, extractions involve gently coaxing plugs of sebum and cellular debris from the pore. By removing blackheads, milia, and soft closed comedones the overall number of breakouts can be reduced. Estheticians are not permitted to extract cysts or serious lesions. These may only be extracted by a dermatologist through surgical methods.

Chemical peels- Deeply exfoliate the skin using an alpha-hydroxy, beta-hydroxy, or glycolic acid. Light chemical peels improve acne by removing dead skin cells and helping to clear pores of debris. Estheticians may incorporate chemical peels into a facial for those with mild to moderate acne. Those with more serious acne should have their dermatologist perform the chemical peel.

Microdermabrasion- This treatment may be performed at a spa or a dermatologist's office. A machine is used to rapidly discharge super-fine crystals/or a diamond crystal wand over the skin's surface, removing dead skin cells. It is not painful. A microdermabrasion treatment deeply exfoliates the skin, loosening debris from within the pore. It is best for those who have non-inflamed acne, with many blackheads and/or whiteheads.
